Section A: why was Frank Arnold an effective Father?

Frank Arnold was an effective father for Josh. Frank gave Josh examples of how he should act to people like Paul/Lacey Robinson. Unlike Frank’s wife, Frank treated them like equal people. An example of this is when the mother gave them 10$ and father gave them 500$. Frank also worries about his son. An example for this is when he came up into Josh’s room, and talked to him about his grades and how he should take care of the family while he is in army. Mother didn’t do this. Closer to the end of the book(ch-17-18) father makes Josh incharge because he thinks that Josh is old enough to take care of the house and mom. Only a loving father would make a decision like this and not make the mother in charge.

Section B: Discuss the idea that Excilda serves as a mother figure to Josh, more than his real mom.

Sometimes Excilda does serve like a mother figure to Josh more than his real mom. Most of the book Josh’s mom is drunk with Jimbob and doesn’t take good care of her son. Unlike Josh’s mom, Excilda takes good care of 13 children. She also chats with Josh sometimes about how was the day,  what is new and etc. One of the children is Vicky who graduates to a university. One very important part is that Josh’s real mother puts Josh down in social class and treats him not like an equal. An example of that is when mother slaps him so hard that he starts bleeding to make him apologize. The only reason she slapped him because he was “rude” to her for arguing marcia being a jew, and he said that Jimbob was unwelcome in the house by his father. A real mother should put children as first priority. Josh never saw Excilda hit her 13 children even when they misbehaved. Excilda did treat Josh a bit like her own child, but not in public. So she was more of a mother figure for Josh.

This is my first project in scratch as an 8th grader.

What is science for me?

My name is Max. I like video gaming and geology.

For me science is like a tree. It starts as a seed - a theory, but later it grows and grows into a tree of knowledge. Later this tree will drop more seeds and more trees will grow. With all of those trees humanity will develop and move into its golden age. When these trees will grow they will rise people int o space and beyond(if there is something beyond space).

Math Letter

        Hi, Mom,
        I just moved into a new house of on the Cube Street in Sphere Town. My apartment is 152^2 m. I got geometrical house. The building itself is a giant rectangle. I got 2 square rooms and 1 circular. I bought triangular furniture. My balcony looks like a negative exponent. PAMDAS in our town is the main architecture stile. But I chose geometrical.  I work at Math factory. We print some algebra and geometry math textbooks. Some times I will go to school and teach elementary school subtraction, addition, parenthesis, multiplication and division. Oh and I also teach perimeter and are of different shapes.

Civil Rights Movement Reflection

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Martin Luther King, Jr. This is the quote that inspired everybody during March on Washington. Civil Rights Movement was the cause of this and I think that studying about this is very important. This was one of the biggest problems of U.S. and that why we (students) should study about it in school. If we study about it we won’t repeat the same mistake. This also explained how people were protesting without violence and that could help us too. In movie “42” we learned how African Americans were treated. We understood why Civil Rights Movement Started.

Math Chapter 3 Test

I got 85.9% I am not too proud or disappointed because this is grade that i usually get. This grade is good because it is average of my tests.

I had noticed that on reflection page I wrote that I understood how to subtract linear expressions with negative numbers or positive perfectly, but I wrote it wrong because most of my mistakes were because of subtraction of negative linear expressions. Now I understand them because I re-read text book and got some more explanations.

2nd Quarter Reflection

This quarter I learned a lot about child labor in Pakistan. What was happening in there was horrible, but Iqbal changed everything. I never thought that a boy could change so much. He was a real hero. I learned a bit more sentence fluency from what i knew before. I do homework most of homework, if I forget to do some I make them up. Most of quarter I liked because it was different what I learned in my previous school where I could only study in textbook without proper explanation. Here I could get different kinds of sentences lesson easier, because there were more explanations that helped me to figure out everything. Even though I am trying very hard, spelling tests are hard for me because my memorizing skills are terrible, even if they are improving. My grade became better, even if by only by 3 points but it became better. I am very proud of myself. I had tried very hard so this is my result. I will try working even harder!
